About The Institute
The Institute of Wholistic Psychonomy
The New Psychology of Self-Realisation
The Institute of Wholistic Psychonomy was founded by Ruby Johnson who created the innovative field of Wholistic Psychonomy.
The Institute offers a range of workshops and courses that focus on creating environments where people can transform their lives and learn how to facilitate change in other people’s lives as well.
The focus is on a range of modalities, including Breathwork, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT).
The Institute’s signature program is the Certificate and Associate Diploma in Wholistic Psychonomy, which consists of in-depth exploration of every area of human life. The 7 modules can be taken over one or two years.
All the courses at the Institute are grounded in Ruby’s knowing that every trauma is healable and that human beings, and every individual has the power to heal, transform and reveal everything they already are.

ABOUT OUR FOUNDER
Meet Ruby Johnson
Ruby Johnson is the founder of the Institute of Wholistic Psychonomy and the innovative creator of the field of Wholistic Psychonomy. A series of challenging and traumatic life events led her to seek out and study the laws that govern our whole being, which functions on all levels – physical, emotional, mental and spiritual…of the personality and the soul.
Ruby graduated with Honours in Psychology at the University of Adelaide and was offered her Masters but declined because it didn’t inspire her. As a result of completing a Diploma in Education and studying with the all time greats in Breathwork and Rebirthing, such as Leonard Orr, Sondra Ray and Stansilav Grof, she recognised the need to pass on these alternative methods and share her wisdom with others.
Over a career spanning three decades she has created and delivered transformational programs that empower people to take control of their lives and become their own healer.
All Ruby’s courses are grounded in the knowing that every trauma is healable and that human beings, and every individual has the power to heal, transform and be everything they can be.
Tragedy & Trauma Transformed
Hi, my name is Ruby Johnson and I’m originally from Cooroy in Queensland, Australia, but I spent most of my childhood in Mt. Isa and at boarding school in Charters Towers. After that my parents moved to Adelaide so that my younger sister and I could receive a good education. Life was treating our family very well until it didn’t.
My older sister was murdered when I was 13.
This tragedy left its mark on all of us, albeit unconscious and largely ignored. We grieved and tried our best to get on with life dealing with our loss.
I went on to graduate secondary school at Marion High Institute and won a Commonwealth Scholarship to Adelaide University. Not long into University I had the rug pulled out from under my feet once again when both my parents were killed in a light aircraft crash.
After this event I became a bit of a wild child. I was in despair, hurting deep down and didn’t know how to deal with life. I barely studied, experienced depression, cut myself off from my feelings, but miraculously managed to do very well academically, all things considered. I completed a Bachelor of Arts, an Honours Degree in Psychology, Diploma in Education and a Bachelor of Education.
In my twenties, I travelled extensively throughout Asia, the Middle East, Europe, and America for the sheer joy of travelling and at the same time I was responding to a deep call to find out who I really was and what I was here for.
Still doing life, putting on a brave face, seeking something, I booked a session with an alternative healer where I had a revelatory experience! In 6 weeks, my whole life had changed… It was at this point that I recognised my passion – to help people change their lives for the better, sooner…
My passion to be an agent of transformation and my desire to learn have guided me on a personal journey of exploration and education for over 30 years.
Now I specialise in Wholistic Psychonomy, which is a new modality that I created, which studies the laws of the personality/the ego and the soul. Over the past few decades, I have designed and delivered many courses and workshops, including nationally accrediting the Certificate IV in Wholistic Psychology.
As well as the Wholistic Psychonomy courses I have designed and delivered dozens of 6–8-week courses and weekend workshops, such as Winning Ways, Dealing with Addictions, Relationships the Light and the Dark, Communicating for Success and many others, too numerous to mention.
The main theme running through all these courses was my sincere desire for every individual to empower themselves and become their own healer, recognising that everything is healable, that love is the only thing that is real and that they already have the power to be all they can be.
I am proud of what we have created here at the Institute of Wholistic Psychonomy and I invite you to take a journey of self-discovery to realise who you really are and who you can be.
